They won't let me west of the Mississippi River, but my policy is - if I don't get west of the Old Man, I take an extra day off at home. But I'd get you a diet coke and a double wild turkey out of Bumpers cabinet

to put up with Crete, you kinda have to really drink.

    Bumper Thanks this.

Had a very odd dream last night about Poly...I guess technically a dream about work would be considered a nightmare...but I digress. I was trying to get out the gate, but my truck was a battery powered truck and on top of all the regular paperwork, I had extra forms I had to sign concerning the care and feeding (so to speak)of the truck. I was on a load going home to FL, but because the batteries had a 200 mile range, I was going to have to stop and charge up 5 times, and it was going to take 8-10 hours to charge. So the load was going to take me 5 days to deliver, but they calculated it out, and I was going to have to stop before getting all the way home and charge again because I was going to come up 20 miles short on battery juice to make it...and, the truck resembled an adult sized "Stomper" kiddie car. What did McD's put in my burger last night?...geeez

The dream is symbolic .....it represents the subconscious egos fear of Polys
reasoning ability and the childlike powerlessness to do anything about it.
The up side is the the kiddie car also represents the potential to revisit childhood
when anything was possible and dreams were real.

Except, I don't fear my employers, consciously or subconsciously. And here I thought it was just indigestion :biggrin_25520:

Still waiting to hear from Outbound for something out of PW. Talked to them this morning and it didn't sound too promising. Note to self, refuse anything going west out of GP.

Do you guys have difficulty getting your home time lined up ?

i missed Thanksgiving with the intentions of doing Christmas instead .
so now the time is here to basically get a load home and even though I phoned it in
right after TG it seems to have not been written down or logged into the system.

Any idea what gives around PGP ?

There are holes in the communication it appears...or maybe I am doing something wrong

Things coming together about perfect to maximize my miles and get me home on Christmas eve barring something unforeseen. Picking up in Great Bend, KS right now and returning to Farmer's Branch (Tuesday Morning) and then taking a load to North Vernon, IN with a supposedly being set up back haul to GP and then homeward to Vegas. All in all should be real close to hitting my last years numbers with about 30 extra days off this year but had to really bust ### the last 4 months to do so.

I got the call from Outbound. The same 2 loads that were offered yesterday, so I took the Sumner run. Picks up tomorrow and doesn't deliver toll noon Monday. Not the best, but gets me moving.

I never have issues with getting home. A week or so in advance I tell them to route me home, after my next back haul, my outbound is headed to FL. They did almost forget last time when I wanted a pass thru to do my license, after I reminded them, like Houdini, they pulled a FL rabbit out of their hat. One of the perks of living near a lot of outbound delivery customers I guess.
