I agree that some people don't deserve respect and that many deserve to get screwed by drivers walking BUT, its not worth screwing your resume over it. Call it politics. I would personally threaten legal action against them over the DAC entry. Trucks GPS'd? That would be the proof it wasn't ditched if you drag them to court over "abandoning" it.

That is why I tell new drivers even at a smaller mega carrier like Decker to document EVERYTHING on paper and photo and video if necessary when they quit. (I consider any "for hire" OTR company with over 100 trucks Mega, you get the same treatment and are NOT treated like family, contrary to the BS stickersthey put on their trailer.
It is very likely he signed an agreement at orientation saying they would take that money if he quit early. My question is why do people agree with it and sign for it to begin with?
I have heard both good and bad about Decker. BUT let's remember this site was created in response to DAC, these companies getting vindictive and blackballing and smearing a drivers name and reputation for 10 years, and they post whatever they want whether its the truth or not.
OP, if you are telling the truth, you can post a rebuttal on DAC, but Decker can respond as well. Also,as long as you are truthful, you will find a better job, and there are much better ones out there they Decker. They tend to not advertise, because they dont need to. They also tend to not use DAC.
I have "quit under dispatch" on mine fron 2005, which is a blatant lie. I quit without notice, on a weekend, but I was not dispatched and my truck was already at their yard.
I also have "review required before rehire" from another one of these "family" companies in 2007.
I now make between .40 and .45 per mile, almost always average over 3000 miles per week, hardly ever lay over, and of I do it is a bare minimum of $100 per day. We habe good, newer equipment and my truck still does 70 MPH. I pull reefers, and it is not always sunshine and roses. But it sure beats being a Borg Quallcom Robot.OPUS 7 Thanks this. -
