How much are you guys paying for insurance. Raymond told me $535 covers trailer and cargo. He also said physical damage is usually $26 per $10k you truck is worth. So that leaves me with liability, bobtail and workman comp. Thanks for your input. I'm paying cash so I wanna make sure all ducks are in a row.

well I decided about 5:00 pm yesterday to change a seal in steering gearbox . it got dark, I am old, half blind and its hard to hold flashlight, fish out a retaining ring, drill a hole in a seal, screw in a screw and yank a seal out and install a new one. must thanks to a landstar driver parked next to me who participated in this repair. I told him he would fit in at mercer. really nice gentleman. but I am up and not leaking.
I made a note to myself , in winter months it gets dark early, don't start repairs at 5:00bigred81 and blacklabel Thank this. -

I beleive we do actually pay for cargo insurance thru 1% of each load before the they take their 25percent so it amounts to us getting approx. 74.22 percent. Not monthly or weekly, just per load. Workermans comp only required if you have a hired driver.
Liabilty is almost always paid for by the carrier wherever you work, because liabity falls on the carrier when pulling a trailer commercially.
