Everybody wants privacy these days. Yet we keep giving our information and money to anyone... My only surprise about this? It didn't happen sooner.

I hate sounding like a paranoid fool... But a blind eye gets turned too often in the face of improvement.

 

I always swore Google/Android is listening to my phone calls with my wife. She and I will discuss something over the phone and within a week or two I am getting spammed or google ads for whatever it was...thankfully I have a dumb tv....but my blueray and I don't get along too good...I better watch myself, it is a WiFi enabled player.

Take a peek. Even if Youre opted out of their interest-based ads, they still collect information about your use. While your phone may not be "tapped" I know that android/Google work closely together and your internet searches are saved/counted.

So if you're signed into your Google account on your phone and/or your wife googles the items in question while signed into the same account...well, there's your explanation.

Ive got an iPhone myself. Every chance I get, I opt out of their "services." One of the apple based services is location saving. It keeps track of your location, time spent there, when and how often you go. It's hidden among the settings, so unless you're purposefully looking for it then you may not find it.
