That's good news. I am suppose to pick mine up at 7 a.m. There was a room full of drivers waiting for their loads yesterday...and some that were on the board but had to wait until Monday's loads were getting loaded.

I once met a man on his way with a 7 stop load, my load was ready 7 hours early, one of his stops was to Merritt Island, augers to boot. How many hours early was my load???

I tell you what, I-10 in FL was not the place to be trucking yesterday or today. The westbound entrance ramp of exit 130 had a Conway roll over with a rolled paper load yesterday, last night between the scales and I-75 (around the Live Oak exit) a westbound Columbia class rolled drivers side down in the median...at least I think it was a Columbia class, he rolled it so hard most of the hood was curled underneath the truck. Just after I-75 a 6-wheel local truck was either sleeping or texting because I saw him almost go straight when the road curved right, almost clipping a passing car, then over correct and go past the rumble strips on the right shoulder and zig-zag between lanes. Around MacClenny a Fudex doubles passed me...kinda' in my lane, then wander between his lane and the right shoulder with his right turn signal on...then almost drift into a bridge barrier on the right shoulder...5 or so miles later he was tailgating a 4 wheeler going 55 mph so close he could have smelled what the guy had for dinner if he would have farted...I will be glad to get home today...I am going to hibernate for a week and let them crash and get it over with...

doin my 5 stopper to IL an WI, first day a walmart in the morn and target in the eve, 2nd day walmart in the morn an target in afternoon, last stop a mom an pop in Green Bay. hope to get over to CG an get somthin good for the wknd. meanwhile in the drivers lounge they are talkn about how slow it is and how they wont go to this state or that state lol and how many loads to Fl does it take before u realize u might be waitn on a backhaul down there? the longest ive waited for a backhaul and about the only time was a load to Pompano Beach, when i go there i hope ther is no backhaul so i can head to the tiki bar for the wknd lol but i dont have such luck.

Problem with that Miami run is it's only 2 1/4 shift run and they give you 4 days to get there and you can't deliver early. Then basically they same on the way back. Can't deliver on the weekend. But with the deadhead and the miles from Houston to GP it's still a 3k plus run.

I'm glad most of my visits to FL are for home time. That gives them plenty of time to find me a load...and if they delay another day...eeeeeeh, o.k., I'll stay home another day then...

    againstthewind Thanks this.

its not that the miles for fl trips are that bad but some drivers just wait around for the southeast runs and dont do anything else, so even tho poly is an otr company there are some drivers who are basically southeast regional drivers which is fine, we all have that choice here.
