That would be due to Global Warming. Yup. Al Gore said so . . . on the Internet . . . that he invented . . .

So it has to be true. Right? Global warming. Snow plows in the desert. Makes perfect sense to me. Maybe I should be Vice President.

I thought you might like the reason for the edit.

It would be a heck of an act, that's for sure. You are so right about Uncle Clyde. With all the comforts and conveniences of the manor, not to mention the little chimpanzees with their frilly little grass skirts on, running around waiting on him hand and foot like he is some kind of movie star, there is no way we are prying him away from his recliner. I would let him ride in my truck, but I only have one bed and there is NO WAY I'm sleeping with him. A man (and monkey) has to draw the line somewhere.

Besides that, can you imagine all of the wrecks that would happen should he start yapping on the CB? It wouldn't take long for us to know who was listening (they couldn't get a word in edgewise because you know how he likes to talk) because those poor souls would be laughing so hard they would run off of the road. On second thought, that might not be a bad idea, providing they ran off the road far enough. It could be like Moses parting the Red Sea and us driving right through the middle.

I like it, but I still ain't sleeping with him.

So, I just pissed off Wal-Mart in Paul's Valley, Ok. Apparently they now have a policy of the driver is not allowed in their own truck while being unloaded. Plus, they want your keys also. You have to wait in the drivers lounge during the entire process.

Naturally, I protested. Explained that the truck did not belong to Wal-Mart and that it is wrong to keep drivers from their home. That I drove all night to get here and I want to go to bed and not in your drivers lounge like a bum. I was willing to give up both keys in exchange to sleep in my bed, but that wasn't good enough.

Got kicked out. But, I don't care. We have to stand up to ######## policies like this. I will not be forced out of my home by any shipper or receiver.

I did apologize to JCT for the inconvience of having to reschedule the load, but they understood my protest.

Yeah. This will be my last Walmart load until that policy goes away. I also emailed the corporate office with my complaint.

I think it good that JCT understands my protest, but it would be awesome if they stood up to them over it.

They do it all over the place. I've had that enjoyment at Sam's Clubs, Walmart stores, and DC's. According to one night manager, some idiot truck driver somewhere didn't hear any activity in the back for a while one night, so he decided he would move his truck away from the dock...and injured the guy who was just driving across the dock into the truck. They lost the worker's injury claim and, as Walmart tends to do, overreacted and instituted the drastic policy change.

Well, was told to take the load to the OKC yard. I am no longer allowed at the Pauls Valley DC. Oh well. That is fine by me. I don't want to deliver to a place that wants to treat me like a bum any way.

Well I am out of the yard and heading to SC and FL got some new front rubber and some bounce sticks (shocks) on all 3 axles. So we shall see if that helps the ride out on this wagon. Everyone be carful out there it is snowing like crazy out here.

I've had to give up my keys at a Sam's Club before on a delivery but they didn't keep me out of my truck. They should either spend a little dough on getting glad hand locks for the trailers and put them on during delivery or let the driver drop the trailer in the dock and have them park in a bobtail area while loading or unloading like I've had to do at several shippers. At least treat us like adults.

On another topic, is it normal to take over a month to process an application at JCT? I applied back on Jan 16 and they are still apparently waiting on employers.
