I got a fix it ticket for a cracked windshield on I-10 @ the Banning scale. Got if fixed, went back to California and had the fix it ticket signed by an officer at the I-8 port of entry. I mailed the ticket in and withing two months I was receiving threatening letters from the CHP about license suspension for my "flagrant disregard for the law." I made copies and got it all straightened out with the help of the company I was driving for at the time but seriously, California is a true PIA!

One of CA's best revenue-generating 'natural' resources are out-of-state truckers!
Just one reason of many why this retired western-regional trucker who lived on the roads in CA for many years will NEVER go back---even to visit!! And why if heading west & north of L.A. from AZ always bailed at Desert Center and took the back roads thru the Mojave to miss 2 scales.Dna Mach and lmcclure1220 Thank this. -
Noticed this morning I have a broken wire so on of the trailer marker is out. Having a place repair it today while they download my reefer data. My next load is drop and hook so I can finally get rid of this trailer. I have had it for three weeks.
Going to ATL next. Got to get the truck serviced there, an antenna replaced that fell off on 40 in NM, and my bumper needs to be straightened out after a guy backed in to me the other day.Fajo Thanks this. -
Heading to Florida. I was supposed to drop and hook until I pointed out to these guys that the trailer they had in the door is almost empty. Fuel gauge is broken and I looked inside with my light and I can see the bottom. Either it has been sitting here running a long time or someone brought it in with little fuel.

Got a Werner driver doing his break in the fuel island. Curtains closed and all. There are spaces available and there is room across the street but he chooses to park in the fuel island.

I was there for two hours doing a split and he was still there when I left. It was starting to get busy too. Small pilot in jasper, fl.

Never came across that situation, but the one that happened several times that ticked me off was when I came into a truck stop "at a decent hour' so as to get an early start (esp if rolling into a big city the next morning to miss rush hour) and some a-hole pulls in late around 2 AM and blocks me in due to full parking, and then I have to first knock on his window, then bang on his door (knowing that he is purposely ignoring my efforts) and finally make a ruckus yelling etc. to get him to open up---and then he acts like "I'm" the problem!!!
Surfer Joe Thanks this. -
During my drop and hook I high hooked it. No real damage but broke a piece of plastic off the bottom if the reefer door. Probably 4 inches long and an inch tall. As soon as I realized it was too high and hit the brakes it was too late. Could have been worse I guess.
