Broke down and towed to a Freightliner shop yesterday. Had a fuel leak in the engine compartment. Apparently, truck needs a line/clamp that's on "back order". Looks like I'll be switching out. So much for having a new truck. I do wish Crete would change their phone message. Being told "... You're call is important to us" 24 times in a row kind of gets under your skin.

I got offered a 483 mile preplan that delivered tonight, way past my 14.
as usual, I get the "they have over night parking"
I even had to quote verses from the green bible.
    I ended up tcalling it.
I told her again that most customers won't let us use the restrooms, and that she couldn't use a toliet for the next 14 days, and to be creative.

So if any of you are at Lincoln, give her an apple to sit on. (Watch where you step too)

It's not the destination, it's the journey that sucks...

That other driving job I applied to called me the other day, I used to love OTR, I'm not sure what I think of it now,
Today, the first preplan, 190 mile deadhead, to a preloaded trl, then 626 loaded miles. Not bad, but it delivered early tommorow morning. 18 hours to do everything. They voided it.
2nd preplan was shorter, but I could have swung by home and checked the mail for my new license, no more hazmat👍, I accepted it and had her redo the empty miles to include getting an empty trl. That put the empty miles too high for the load and they voided it.

    update,
3's the charm. Not, a 250 mile shag to Seymour, has to deliver today, with 15 empty miles, ugh!! They sent me the 57 miles down here to get the empty,
I send a message to redo the empty miles, and I accept it. 45 minutes later, still no load info, I send a message and get it, 15 empty miles. Ugh!!!
I call Lincoln, my lame asset manager went home already, got hold of a man instead. He fixed it and sent out the new load info, 15 empty miles again.
He goes in there again and someone put the bobtailing for the empty as unauthorized miles, he changed it and I got 64 empty miles.

all that bull #### for a shag. And it will deliver a day late, my 14 won't allow it today. And there's a real good bar in Seymour, unlike here.

I was getting fuel there in Booneville, MO yesterday afternoon and the curiosity of other drivers is amazing ....another Crete driver fueling next to me was belly-aching about heading back to PA. Asked me where I was headed .....I said I am on a "Shag Run" and left it at that. Actually I had been a NorthEast "Vulture" myself the previous 10 days... and this "Shag Run" :) I had picked up in Kentucky and was heading to Tracy, CA but that's my business.

you live out west, its a whole different game. If you leave home, go to PA and run zone freight, then get a good run to get back home, Nevermind

Living out west it's the same freight-wise... hit or miss. Since coming out of hometime a couple of weeks ago I've run CA-GA-MS-TX-CA-TX... almost all good miles with good timeframes. Last time I came from home they ran me around the west coast with a bunch of short mile stuff before sending me out to PA (where they found me more shag loads). Like I said, hit or miss but as long as I make my 2500+ mile weekly goal it's all good.
