I just paid 395.00 each for bridgestone m710 drive tires plus mounting of 30.00 each, buy em in a tax free state, like Indiana across the river.

I Converted to Super Singles on 3/26 it's still being processed but i think its going to cost me roughly $3,600 after all the discounts and rebates and trade in, Mercer gets Michelin Super Singles for $875 a tire. I highly Recommend Raben Tire.

They didn't offer me used or new. All I know is they are waiting on trailers n list. To me it don't matter. But I'm not too big in huge rush long as I can get in no later then the 29th lol.

3600 for super singles are not bad.

Not at all, The Tires were $875, Rims were $400 each, Michelin has a Rebate making them $200, I bought 2 more to replace the Steel Rims on the Steers those were $210 each, for my trade in 8 Tires and 10 Rims they paid me $850, basically making the rims free, and knocking $50 off the rest

It's official , I'm headed to Mercertown on May 04th for orientation ... I drank the kool-aid! & For the record I applied and signed up long before the truck show for those gripping under their breath about the surge of new recruits that were scooped up @ the truck show... I applied back in January but due to needing a hernia surgery it's taken this long to recover and get cleared by the doctor to return to work, had a double inguinal hernia surgery (for the record I've broken 16 bones in my body and this by far was way more painful then that ever was!!!) I would never wish that pain on anyone...

So that being said, 2 things, 1st, I will start my own thread here shortly on my experience of switching from meat in the seat for 8 years to becoming a O/O and my experience in dealing with Lone Mountain Trucks & Mercer ... 2nd, Any advice or anyone willing to maybe take on a greenhorn under their belt to help me be a more efficient owner operator with Mercer would be great, I drank the kool-aid but not all the way, I'm going with dry van that's the route I'm taking, Hats off to all of you that run flatbed, I will exercise @ home with my lady to burn off those extra calories, I want to do flatbed, but I need to make sure I'm 100% healed before I make the switch if I do, I don't mind being a door swinger.

On that note, I look forward to coming on board, and thank you to all in this thread and on the TTR that have helped me making the decision to come on with Mercer, which the decision wasn't made lightly trust me ... more later...

They are bringing on an awful lot of new guys when freight has been slow and rates stagnant. Guess we will see how it goes. According to industry speculators, its not going to be as strong as last year.
