That was the story at Knight when I left there yrs ago. When I hired on they had a good reputation, loyal customers, etc. with a fleet of 700 trucks. Then they went after the 'cheap' freight ala Swift, got bigger, and started not only missing pickups/deliveries, but also not getting MT's to them to load!!!

What good is beating the bush for new customers when you cant keep the ones you have....

That was about 10 hours per week unpaid time at Knight. Getting "worked in" because the load was three days late. Never mind it was just picked up off the yard by you 20 miles away. They didn't have any empties so they conned you into live unloading for an empty.

Interesting, I get paid for anything over 2 hours even if the load is already currently late (by no fault of my own), Pop a simple message off to my DM and walla a Xpay comes across the Zonar for the extra time. Also if you picked up anything under 100 miles from a yard you should be on Local pay and not CPM sooooo not getting paid should not happen.

As for late loads guess its par for the course some are late some are not, I can tell you that all the loads I have done in the last 2 weeks (As I just scanned it all in) were all picked up and delivered on time. Why I do get a occasional late load for pickup the load normally has enough time to make it to its destination before the delivery time. Even after getting worked if if need be to get loaded.

Or maybe just not communicated ? I have never had a issue getting paid for my time or work, Maybe its just my terminal.

Sounds like Refrig may be better run these days than Dry.

Been 7 yrs since I left after working there for 5 yrs, and watched as Refrig got started.

But it has been a common occurrence on this site that staunch 'defenders' of Knight after awhile suddenly 'disappear'...will keep an eye on Fajo.. :biggrin_25523:

Fun, As I have been here the last 4 years with little to no issue I really don't see my self suddenly "disappearing" unless I was offered something better. Which to me would have to be more then CPM. I will agree with you that Dry side has its issues (Terminal's) at least thats normally the guys I hear crapping up a storm.

    Edit.
Ill also point out that im not a "Staunch" defender of anything, I just post my experience and what I see, Trust me if there was a screw up somewhere along the way I would have no problem calling them out on it. Tho so far in my experience this has been few and far between.

Btw, does Coors still reefer their beer coming out of Denver (altho made in Golden, warehoused in Denver)? Budweiser Ft. Collins didnt and had some frozen loads if delivered after 2 days during the winter back when....

Coors we really don't haul much anymore (thank god #### thing was always way overloaded) Busch in fort has us put it on if we have draft on board (36) otherwise they leave it up to the driver. Tho tbh if you know its going to be freezing or below you should just click the refeer on. I do recall the bills state to "Keep product from freezing" stamped on them.

    Edit,
Did have a laugh this winter tho, Dry side put a load of Pepsi on there trl and sat it in the Denver yard this winter for 10 days. Needless to say we bought that load.

    OverDrive Thanks this.

The Coors warehouse I picked up at was in N. Denver, but had to go to E. Denver to scale load (Commerce City truck stops) or that 'little jammed out' Pilot which was Knight's ONLY authorized fuel stop in that area ...hated it! Seen both E. & W. bound exit ramps on I70 backed up and around the corner with trucks trying to fuel there---took 'hours!" Couple times picked up loads and headed S. and stopped at truck stop in Fountain (well away from Denver so couldnt go back!) and requested emergency fuel..what were they going to say..NO?!! :biggrin_2559:

When 1st went solo had to p/u a beer load at Bud Ft. Collins at night but their scale wasnt working! So had to take the back roads around the S. scale on I25 to Johnson Corner and hoped could make weights---going I70 to Vegas.
