    Whats your thought's..?

We plan to start training with Con-way as a H&W Team in July... after researching many companies, it seem's they are all changing or have changed to Auto's..

The bigger inverters and better visibility and more leg and head room sounds nice..

If you are referring to the auto tranny part, the Volvo automated manual I drove recently was pretty nice. Spoiled me in fact. Took a little getting used to.

I find no problem with this as my left knee is rather sore, because my 2006 International 8600 that I drive for a major broad line food service distributor has a clutch pedal that put's up quite a lot of resistance. In fact today I said "Gee an auto sure would be nice for all this city driving."

Another move to expand Con-Way's hiring base to the lowest common denominator -- this ain't CFI...

Automatics??? Wow. I was talking to Leavitt's Freight Service today and they said their trucks are all autos too. Kinda weird being a flatbed carrier that does a ton of PNW heavy haul up to BC and Alberta. Said that the maintenance is down and cheaper. Still wouldn't want one on the passes, I need that control to be able to make my own decisions. The transmission doesn't know the road conditions, I do. Seems like a lot of money being thrown at making the industry that much lazier.
