I'll be headed in Monday for orientation also. Is that your truck in the pic? I'll be leaving Orlando tomorrow evening to head up that way. And be safe on your 1300 mile journey. I was crying when I seen I had a 842 mile hike.

Yup, that's my truck. I'm thinking I may leave in a bit just to get a little jump on the run. Would like to get to Mercertown early enough Sunday night to get a good nights sleep. I'm not an early morning kinda guy and orientation starts at 6 am my time. :biggrin_25512:

Plenty of loads paying $2 a mile. But 200 miles at that rate is garbage. Any load that was actually worth taking, for some reason I was number 3 on those. I would think after I didn't get the load that meant the people in front of me took the load, but my number stayed 3. The only other load I tried to get was a government load and Mercer kept getting underbid. I watch the board. I do not wait on someone to call me

what rate are u looking for out of Atlanta, lake city with bobcats, pay over 2.00 with some stops( I pulled out of there 2 weeks ago for 2.40? Pendergrass will pay decent at the skidsteer place, but Kubota sucks right now, some of the a/c loads out of conyers pay decent. I live 50 miles outside of savannah, the hardest place for me to load is from home, its a real pain trying to find something close to load, best thing is to find the best ya can and get back out in the system.

Well got a nice paying load to MN for sunday. Got extra day on the load but i got all the parts to replace for my AC only thing i didn't get was the AC charge system but i can take that to a T/A i think my Cluch needs an adjustment and i got no clue how to do that. TA wan'ts $50 so i might let them do it and watch them so i can learn. I wanna learn how to beable to work on my truck fully without paying these shop rates.

    that's the problem. To many
things you won't do. Atlanta is not a great market. sometimes you gotta take a load that tarps, or take a cheaper load at 1.75ish that doesn't tarp. I never have a problem loading out of that area, but I also don't have unreasonable expectations for the area. It's the same as any area, you have to be realistic and understand the market. Not every market is gonna pay great, and even the good areas have slow times.

The fact is Mercer rates are garbage lately. My average is $1.56 for all miles this year. Same time last year I was pulling a company trailer only getting 65% and I averaged $2.02 a mile. I really don't care what your opinion is. I don't go to the northeast because Mercer's rates suck if you consider tolls. And Atlanta is not a bad market. There where over 10,000 loads on Internet truck stop in a 300 mile radius. You think there was 10,000 trucks in that same area. There is no reason for rates to be this low.
