They take 25 of the linehaul and stop pay. Everything else you get ALL of it. However,I want to be clear, stop pay for us is not the typical company 35 dollar Crap. Any extra stops are added in on the line haul when the freight quote is given. Obviously the amount it's going to vary by customer and agent. Some agents excel at negotiating rates, others not so much. Andsome customers are willing to pay more for good service, and othersdon't care who they put their freight on, they want the cheapest truck.

 

Ok, I was gonna respond to a few posts, but as I read you guys did a fairly good job covering the answers, except on how much the Quality trucks run.

I lease from Quality. I have a 2016 T680, payments are about $2650 for the truck about $2900 including the insurance. It's a $65k balloon, which is roughly the same as buying the truck for $150k and financing it at about 11%. It's not too bad of a deal for only needing a signature.

 

Keep your paid for truck and make some money. Put another $30k-$40k over 3 years and have your own glider.

Razor, you are making it work for you, and I applaud you for that. HoweverIu still think it's a ridiculously high payment, and the vast majority of guys will not be able to make it work.
And if you compare to a new truck from loan mountain, it is a very bad deal. The same truck, a lower payment, and no balloon payment.

 

Construction ain't doing all the great this season.....

How's the quantity and quality of freight this summer..?

 

I don' t know too much about lone mountain, but they only had used trucks when I looked into them from what I saw, and I left 2 messages, no one ever called me back. I do know they have smaller payments and no balloon, but they require a down payment, whereas Quality doesnt. I'm not claiming it's the greatest deal in the world, just answering the question that was asked. I know it isn't a good fit for everyone, no situation is. I am not suggesting it as the best way to start a business either. It is by far NOT the ideal way to start a business. It is, however, a way, and it can be done successfully.

 

Rates are down compared to last year, but anyone that has paid attention knows the economy slows down every election year. Most of us are still making good money, in fact I'm doing even better than last year, but that's due to me working a lot more in preparation for some really big expenses coming soon.
