In my experience, none of those products work very well. And some of them have ruined fuel pumps and injectors.
On every piece of equipment I've had algae, from trucks, to farm tractors to dozers and loaders, the only way I've found to get rid of the problem once and for all is to change all the rubber fuel lines, and drain and wash out the tanks, steel lines, and filter housings.
Edit to add: once you get it cleaned out, the best way to prevent it from recurring is buying good fuel. I avoid fueling to often at mom and pops fuel stops cause they are less likely to buy premium fuel and keep their tanks in good shape. I'm not saying a ta won't ever sell you algae infested fuel, but the corporate over sight and standardized tank maintenance procedures limit this risk vs some Tom dick and Harry that's barely able to stay in business.Last edited: Jun 30, 2015
TruckerPete1990 Thanks this. -
For algae I use BioBor JF made by Hammonds. I have found it works much better than Killem. I get mine at the local Thermo King dealer. It's what they have found works best in some of those old wet reefer tanks.
Klleetrucking and TruckerPete1990 Thank this. -
Has anyone else noticed a slow down in truck pay since using those new cover sheets? I scanned one in Saturday, still not paid.

Yep, truck pay is now two days for me instead of same day. I bet after a week or so of them getting used to the new system it will go back to being the same day/next day like it always was

Mercer is closed Thursday right?
Sent in my paperwork Monday around 1030am and got paid around 1000 today.Last edited: Jun 30, 2015
