Have not had a very good past 2 months. Only speaking for the van side but there has been a massive change for whatever reason with the freight, I.e rates and customers. Fortunately I have the freedom of nothing hanging over my head but it still aggravates me to no end. That being said I'm getting the flatbed tagged and bringing it out of retirement.

Its been as bad if not worse on the flat/stepdeck side. I deadheaded 450 miles last friday out of Wi. because of lousy freight and this week I set day and half in des moines, IA. before getting a run. Both of those areas are not normally lousy areas to get out of.
But I've heard, its that way at other companies as well. Though it's been making the recruiting numbers go way up as others guys are jumping from other companies to here.

Always better to buy your own if you can do it. Then you don't have a money going towards a reserve and you can get a lighter trailer probably for less money.

First, I assume you logged into the sleeper for the 8 hours. Then when 8 hours had passed it did not show you the correct available hours? Were you on the same screen that whole time where the round clocks are? It usually won't update those numbers the way it should. If you had 8 sleeper hours then put yourself off duty it should update the clocks. This is one of the remaining problems, I've discussed it with Keller already. I have to know exactly what you did to tell you where the problem is. One of the biggest issues is if you take your phone or tablet away from the truck without properly disconnecting. You may get an error and crash when you return to the truck and attempt to change duty status or reconnect. Also if you do that in the evening it will likely change your duty status to off duty at midnight and that will ruin an 8 hour sleeper session. So there are several things that could cause you to have a problem. Or there may not be a problem other than the display doesn't show the correct available hours until you change duty status. I always jot down what time I went into the sleeper just to be sure I know I got 8 hours. PM me if you need help. I can assure you the 8 + 2 break does work, but the quirks still in the program can be a real P.I.A. to deal with. Supposed to make this easier not harder.

Can someone provide a listing of estimated fees for leasing on at Mercer. I am a small fleet owner and looking to move my trucks there. What is the average gross? Currently we run dry vans. If there are any fleet owners with Mercer, what do you pay your drivers?
