I've been sitting on this million (billion/trillion!?) dollar idea for a long time but don't have the wits nor ambition to do anything about it. At this point I just want to know why someone else hasn't done it. I took a class on writing up a business plan but when the teacher went around the room asking what we were there for I bit my tongue listening to these schlubs talk about opening bakeries and metal working shops or whatever. I was thinking, "I'm about to blow all of your feeble minds." but when I confidently said, "I wanna open a fast food drive-thru for truckers." she just kind of snickered and moved on to the next person...

Drivers would get their food at the window then sit there and eat it without pulling up. :D

You'd need a sonic style drive inn. Even a truck stop with a CB/cell phone ordering system and car hoppers on skates like sonic would do good I'd imagine.

And can you imagine the site the order servers would see when they stepped up to the window to give food? HAHAH
The inside of some guys truck who can't even get out of it when he is at the truck stop?

    I thought about this also.
First problem is ;The line that would forum during a rush period?? Maybe 10 trucks butt to nutt? Thats a long line when someone can't figure out what they want to eat.

Second problem with sonic burger type idea: Those people who serve need to get paid a fair wage anbd will expect a tip... A trucker will walk his cheap ### inside and not pay a tip or the extra cost for that burger getting brought out to his truck.

Third problem: first thing a trucker does when he stops at truck stop is empty out their pee bottle. Laugh. Joke. Deny it all you want but y ou know you seen it. I even watched a Indian pis off his steps in a petro in Spokane in the middle of the day. Imagine what that drive thru will smell like on a hot day/ Or what it will look like when it snows? Can you say yellow snow? HAHA.

Forth problem: is guys hitting stuff and not being able to get out of back up. You will get guys who will shut down the whole place cause they will wreck inside your line.

Fifth problem: lest say it works and they stop and you bring food to the window and they pay and tip...and eat it....what do you think they will do with the garbage? Its going out the window. Either in the parking lot or down the street...If there is ever a industry that employees litter bugs its this industry. They the city will complain when all your wrappers on on the side of the roads.

Sixth Problem: HARASSMENT! Can you imagine what some of these drivers will say or SHOW to a hot young girl that comes to their window? A person will act differently out of their comfort zone. They will make an attempt behave. But once a guy has been in the truck for days with small breaks for fuel and sleep, he might and will most likely act out with smart az comments or maybe even cross the line and do a show and tell. If you get my drift.

And there are other problems. BUT solve those first before I give you others to think about. :)

Your homework: Think of a new plan.

And now you know why my son and nephew call me the dream crusher! HAHAH
They say every bright idea they get I kill with common sense.

And before I forget: In business one of the first things you need to consider are your customers. What they will buy, how they pay, whats a avg wage, whats an avg gender/age, what kinda class of citizen (demographics), what are chances of a return...
THEN who is your competition and what do they do that works? What don't they do and why? What are their margins? Why so low or so high?

And also don't forget the guy who invented the drive up ac/radio/tv units for trucks at truck stops. http://www.truck-drivers-money-saving-tips.com/cabaire.html

This was installed all over the NW truck stops and shortly after ripped out. It was a disaster. Read up on that subject if your serious.

Just because you see yourself as a customer doesn't mean the rest of the world will look and act like you or buy what you buy.

If you owned a trucking company and found out that one of your drivers was "relieving" himself in the parking lot, would you discipline or terminate the driver?

Seriously speaking, if an under aged minor witnesses an adult "relieving" himself in public, the man "relieving" himself in public can be arrested, convicted, and sent to prison as a sex offender.
If and when the man is released from prison, he must become registered as a sex offender, which means being put on both the state and federal sex offender registry list, for some years to come.
I work as a retail clerk in Wichita KS. I often have to check drivers licenses to verify both ages and identities involving the sales of alcohol, tobacco, and various types of gift cards that can have money put onto them.
The are registered sex offenders in the state of Kansas that have their "registered status" stamped on their drivers licenses. I can honestly tell you that registered sex offenders absolutely and positively abhor, despise, and loathe having to show their drivers licenses to anybody whatsoever. Registered sex offenders, (for obvious reasons), have an EXTREMELY difficult time finding any kind of a job or a place to live.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
