A friend of my back in high school had a 69 charger with the 440 in it. One day he had this bright idea that we would swap vehicles for the afternoon. He got my 750 phaser and by the time he caught up to me at the second set of lights he wanted his car back.
Said he couldn't afford to pay for all the rubber I was burning up on his car

 

Well truck is at the dealer he was saying black smoke could be signs of a bad turbocharger... I HOPE NOT those things are not cheap. Although i found a brand called JM they seem pretty cheap Price: $1,780.00 for a new one with 1 year warr

 

Yeah black smoke is unburnt fuel. Could be turbo but it could be a few other things as well. I hope it isn't your turbo. Did you happen to check and see if your air cleaners were good? Could be charge air cooler? Could it be the actuator? Did you have the top end set?

 

its getting top end set now. I have a fleet air filter in less then 20k miles. Getting charger air cooler tested too.

 

Hopefully the top end set cures it or they find a loose clamp on a turbo boot.
Did the black smoke start gradually or all at once?

 

its been doing it for sense i owned the truck. didnt notice it into i pulled the van and see the smoke on front of trailer lol

 

you can also get a used trailer if one is available, the insurance is thru mercer and is reasonable, their physical damage insurance is also a good price and includes windshield coverage with no deductible. you make the payments on the trailer its yours and you get the title. its what I did. if you live in Alabama like your profile says, its a good area. and no they wont bring you in unless they got a trailer. that's how it works, I recommend flat that where its at

 

I don't get on here as much as I used to, the complainers and naysayers wore me down. got tired of it

Ok so I live in Phoenix mostly and it really isn't bad. I've bounced from Phoenix to Vegas before to get back east after home time but normally I grab loads out of the Phoenix area. As for getting home? I normally grab a load to Cali. The agent there has always found me a load to Phoenix within minutes of me calling her going right to my house. I'll bet she can do the same for Las Vegas.

People complain about the rates out west but for the most part they are fine once you learn how to work the system.
