Yes, I'm pulling flat. The payments vary based on the truck you choose, whether it's new/used. I personally have a 2016 T680. It runs $672/wk and includes insurance. It is a walk away lease, so if you don't like it, turn it in and there is no penalty. No money down, but a $65k buyout at the end.

Lack of mechanical ability among truckers is everywhere. I just saw a Mercer driver with his truck in the shop at a Petro to get a headlight bulb put in, something that should take all of 2 minutes. Minimum charge 1/2 hr @ $95/hr. Plus "environmental" fees and other associated extras. I guess I'm "old school" thinking that a driver, especially an owner, should be able to do a fair amount of his own maintenance?

Tried to help a guy in Louisville this week adjust his clutch. Figure i'd help and show him and let him do it himself actually so next time he can do it himself. Wasn't interested. I owe a lot of people a lot of help from the help and advise I've gleaned over the years from o/o's that were more than happy to share their knowledge. Believe me, I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, There's a whole lot I still don't know.

roshea, blacklabel and memphis jack Thank this.

Finally got a load that conquered the felt smh. Only 1 two inch slit and 1 small hole. Guess I'll bring my blankets with me when I get back home.
