Joe & Tow's new trucking adventures/ex GTI thread

I wonder if Illinois makes drivers from other countries take a road test? I've seen some crazy driving by some of those foreigners out of Chicagoland. A few weeks ago some Russian guy got out of his truck to ask me how to detour around that I-10 bridge washout in California. He jumped out of his truck at the TA where I was parked and runs up to my truck to ask directions. Only problem was he forgot to set his brakes and his truck started rolling across the parking lot. I yelled at him and pointed behind him that his truck was leaving.without him! He's jabbering at me in Russian and doesn't even look back. Finally another driver parked next to me starts hollering at him and pointing like I was. Finally Ivan looks behind himself and sees whats happening and runs to catch up with his truck. Lucky the truck stop parking lot was mostly empty or this guy would have wiped out a few trucks or slow truckers walking across the lot.

 

i know 2 guys that drive for Chicago White Volvo Companies
a bunch of these eastern europeans are getting licensed in florida
in one day then take the test given by the school so they all pass
Florida is apparently more corrupt then Rhode Island and Illinois
Florida is also the state with walk in pain management clinics
for the oxycontin crowd

 

If you try to renew more than 6 months in advance of your expiration in California, they want you to retake all the tests.

 

Illinois has a strict and tough CDL test cause of former Governor George Ryan selling CDLs back in the day for bribes. One driver who paid the bribe to get his CDL killed a bus full of kids.

Even though it's hard to get a CDL, doesn't mean these guys will apply what they've learned.
