Mercer offers these contract highlights:
- 75% of gross revenue (excluding 1% insurance surcharge).
- Paid promptly after every trip.
- $350 total escrow deposit deducted at the rate of $10 per month
- You may have to pay up to first $1,000 charge for cargo or liability claim.
- Google.
Looks like a 1099 outfit, so your responsible for your quarterly taxes.csettles85 Thanks this. -
Mercer doesn't have company drivers. All owner operators are considered independent contractors and in business for themselves. As such, you are responsible for your own equipment, maintenance and taxes. Since they pay your fuel taxes the only quarterly taxes you need to file are income taxes unless you only file at the end of the year.

And you better have the money, Mr. Tax man doesn't playcsettles85 Thanks this.

So the first $1000 has to be paid up front or it will be deducted from a couple of checks?
-
Also since I don't know how much the average load pays in order to figure out 75%...give me a random number of what a driver would make off of a load?
-
Go read the Mercer threads already statrted under "Mercer" (oddly enough)
There are plenty of hands there to answer you. There are no "Mercer drivers" per se; they only have owner ops. How much you make is pretty much up to the guy you see in the mirror. -
Lol so basically I'ma have to live with the fact that I will never get a solid answer for this question? Lol #### it...ok better question: is it common or likely to see frequent settlements of $2000 or more either per week or per load after expenses? I know owner operators with their own authority make double that lol!

Ok...........here's the deal. I am an indie; and pull a load for Mercer on occasion. I am NOT leased to them. There are a TON of guys that post IN the Mercer thread who you could PM and aske questions about revenue. It depends on what you are pulling for a trailer and where you will run. And yes, whether you like it or not; it depends MOST on you.
The only reason I even responded was to try and steer you to the pre-existing Mercer thread(s) where you have a much better chance of having your question(s) answered. -
Got u got u...I'm actually new to this sight so I been experimenting tryna figure this sight outKenworthGuyNH Thanks this.
