SS,
If you can get past the initial starting pay here and look long term I think you will find Big G a good match.Only real negative I can think of here is Short Mile Pay (I hate it) BUT, with the new monthly bonus program it will about pay what practical miles would pay normally.
See tows post earlier for numbers on the new bonus.
I was very hesitant coming here and took them off my list at 1st..pay being my main concern, 6 months later and many questions with different people in the recruiting dept I decided to pull the trigger.
I have no regrets coming over here, I know you wouldn't feel the us vs them mentality here, I find them to be professional/courteous and overall real nice people to work with. Everyone mingles, its much different than Crete was in my almost 5 years there.
I am a numbers guy and I am trending towards 56500-57000 1st year, that is w/o the esop which they say avgs 4800 ish 1st year eligible (I can't say if that is fact or fiction) but Tow or Tenn might have the answer. I always figure worst case scenarios.
Preplans are plentiful, almost every load I am PP on, I also do the every 2 week thing and atm I am averaging 2538 miles per week no funky math.miles per week home or not thats the avg for me so far after 16 weeks. 40616/16= 2538
This is mostly out and back to the nashville area, performance pay and detention are also plentiful. I have also received 2 pilot gift cards ($10each) as as a thank you for doing different things, I didn't think what I did was anything special but Big G personnel did.One was from dispatch and one was from a load planner.
Perdiem is optional here (which is good IMO because I don't like Perdiem)
More positives
no Internationals, no onguard , no sleep apnea crap , choose your Doc for your physical , no cameras
Good luck on your job searchLast edited: Aug 28, 2015
Cranky Yankee, Double-L137, supersnackbar and 1 other person Thank this. -

Cranky Yankee Thanks this. -
A few questions. What's the restriction on pets?
Their video says satellite radio in trucks is that true?
What's their detention pay? -
Cant answer about pets...dont have any..personally find it disgusting in a truck but to each his own...
detention time all after 2 hrs but detention is rare....
xm/sirius radios in trucks but you pay subscription fee...also..the volvos get good antenna reception but the kw sucks where they installed antenna...i just play xm from my phone app thru the truck stereo and it works great and uses hardly any data....Kroozn20 Thanks this. -
Just curious about the pet. I have a little dog but probably would never take it with me.
Last time I was OTR 2 years ago it was almost always long waits, was probably just the carrier I was with.
Got a conditional offer for Big G I am really seriously wanting to join in. Just gotta talk to Karla Monday. I'm sure I'll have more questions. -
supersnackbar Thanks this.

I have a question. When ya'll are saying "you get to pick your own doctor to do a physical" does that mean you also get to pay for it? Or does Big G reimburse the cost?
