    Thank GOD that mandatory 30 min break is forced on us. I dont know that I could have made it for the total 8 hrs and 20 minutes I drove today.

    WTF! I thought empty searches are supposed to be for all you east coast guys. I'm on customer #3 waiting for a new place after discovering there are no empties. Don't understand why I was sent here if another driver came here looking for an empty earlier only to find none.

    As soon as get an empty so I pickup this preload I get to head back to the Fontana OC to check my truck in at 0500 to have my DPF serviced. Then off to the French Camp OC to relay this load. Then I get to bobtail 190 miles to McCarran NV to pickup an empty. Don't know if that's a mistake but box planners are supposed to check on it in the morning. Just after receiving this load I also had a preassignment to deadhead 980 miles from McCarran NV to Denver CO to pickup a load that goes to Henderson CO for a 9/10 appointment... Turns out that was sent to the wrong truck.

    You do realize that if you are getting the DPF cleaned that it's like a 2-4 day ordeal.

    Now I get to go back to the place I was 15 minutes ago to see if they have any empties now! LMAO, I'm calling in.

    See that exact thing tipped it for me to switch to dedicated.

    Only mine involved 400 miles out to Long Island and back from Kearney NJ, only to be sent finally to one 23 miles from my next load!!!! GW bridge 3 times that day.

    I ended up calling in and box planners had me go try another location to find an empty. 2 miles down the road I get a message to go straight to Wal-Mart to try to pick up the loaded trailer without an empty and if they refused then the load was gonna be removed. I turned out to be the 3rd or 4th truck they refused without an empty today's and ended up having the load removed. They did end up sending me a new preassignment with all my trailer search stops though which was cool.

    I just checked the truck into the shop. They can get to it later tonight and it most likely be done tomorrow morning. The DPF may just need cleaned (5-6 hour job) or if it has too much accumulated in it then they will have to get a new one. Time to see if there is a room available at the hotel.

    I wonder how a load with a total of 4 stops, the first one being 0 miles away and the rest all being 4 miles away, with only arrived and depart tasks will end up paying out...
