Yes, starting into my 5th week. I agree, they owe no one an explanation on the means of growing their fleet in any way they see fit. That said, I posted more than once that when I specifically inquired that I felt the van side was being cannibalized freight wise by a gross and quick addition of trucks with zero new freight being sold I got the exact same answer word for word and as I said then, the fix was in and the robot response was in effect until they could formulate a plan to stop the hemorraging. If the freeze is so then that has been born out to be true. I have no problem who, when, or how many people they hire or fire, it's irrelevant but when people stare at you and absolutely lie like a big dog, not be untruthful or mispoke or were confused, nope, lie like a piece of garbage it burns me up.

 

Yeah sorry about that. I had been busy running freight for a week and hadn't been on here. Was just catching up. Didn't see the part about the lp being put on hold until later. Curious though cause a friend of mine with another company that already has a quality truck and wants to come here got a call from his recruiter Friday telling him they needed to get the letter of intent to quality to get him started this direction. But he already has a truck from them so there may be a difference or this may just be a rumor. Has your hubby talked to Mercer to get straight scoop yet?

 

I meant hiring in general, not necessarily LP. Sorry I didn't clarify that. I have been leased to company's before that over hired their freight base. It never ends well for the Owner Operators.

Re read big fella, I said I asked driver relations, coordinator and safety guy same question and the answer I got, with what was stated on this thread, was a lie. Are we clear, the answer to the question I asked about the van division be withered was not true if you want to be PC about it. As a whole I'm not saying your great savior, the Yahweh of the trucking industry is a liar, the specific questions I asked, they lied. Re read my posts. Again, yes I have personal experience with it, yes I have knowledge about it.

Not yet. He talked to Mercer Friday morning, but nothing was said. Then I read about the freeze here later that day, but he was working and not in an area with good cell service, so he wasn't able to call to ask. He's calling Mercer tomorrow morning to see what's going on. Jones Motor is working on scheduling him a drug test. He's working up in North Dakota and they only have two places he can go in the entire state and he isn't able to make it to either place... So he'll have to wait until he comes home and hopefully they get the results back in time that he can go there. By the end of this month, he will be somewhere else, but unless he ends up at Jones Motor and likes it, it'll just be until he can get on with Mercer. That's where we want to be.

All I know is that I need a definite answer of what we're doing. This stress and frustration is making us both sick.

 

Yeah I read it. Still don't get it but I read it each time. Maybe the problem is my reading comprehension is failing or something but I'm still looking for the valid question. You said you felt van freight was being cannibalized with no new freight coming in. I'm paying particular attention to the phrase you FELT like it was. That makes it a statement not a question. It also makes it an opinion on your part and not a fact. Do you know then for a fact there is no new van freight at all or does it just seem that way to you. Did they bring on more van guys than they should have? Sure that's possible. Wouldn't be the first company that brought on more trucks expecting freight that never materialized. I know this for a fact and this can be easily checked. There are alot of areas right now where there is more van freight on the board than flat frieght. I even live in one of those areas. Some of that frieght is decent and some is cheap cheap. Same applies to the open deck board. Some decent, some cheap.
So did Mercer take on more than they should? Maybe. Did they lie about it? I very highly doubt it. I'm certainly not willing to take your word alone for it. I will need more evidence than you presented. Do I believe you believe in your heart and mind that they did. I'm sure you do. Doesn't change my opinion through that your statement is based more on opinion than fact and may very well be Hawg wash.
