You ain't kidding. I'd much rather throw iron than deal with that. Plus the lack of certain types of drivers in the chain areas is very welcome.

    truckon and MJ1657 Thank this.

was wondering...he had a bad deal over here at Poly, was kinda hoping that his bad luck was limited to here. His profile page says he was last seen on Tuesday, so I guess he didn't slap the judge during his legal FUBAR.

Got a frozen load out of Minnesota coming to Florida that was supposed to deliver Sunday morning, got down to Macon Ga and the reefer blew an alternator belt. Screwed up my logs just enough to where I couldn't deliver on time. Gave my load to another driver who gave his load to me. His load delivered Monday morning in Lake City 2 miles from where we met up. Got that load done, parked at a huddle house just up the road and waited for something to happen. Another driver broke down and was towed to the KW dealer in Jacksonville. They had me deadhead to Jacksonville to give him my empty, pick up his load, and deliver it at Save A Lot in Plant City last night (Monday night) at 1am. Got out of there at 4:30, came to the yard and now it looks like I'll get a 34 before I leave here.

You might. I don't. You're the captain of your ship so you go ahead and do whatever you feel is best for you. For me, if it's not safe to continue without chains, it's time to park it. I sat at the Petro in Sparks Nv for 3 days in February 2014 because the chain law was in effect on Donner and I didn't leave until it was lifted. I'll do it again.
