So I agreed to do a load swap to get someone home. The load I have now delivers this afternoon at 230 and after he delivers it he would go home. The driver and I agreed to meet in Effingham IL. I had to start my clock and drive an hour out of my original route to get to Effingham only to find out the driver slept in and won't be here for 2-3 hours. Because of that this load will be late. Guess he dosnt want to get home Cuz right now I'm just waiting on word to go ahead and finish this load or wait for him.

Real smart guy I guess.

Thus guy didn't think he could do 200 miles in 4 hrs 40 min yesterday if that tells you anything.
-
I just did 200 miles in 3hrs on I-35 through Waco and Austin.
Keep a book of black listed truck numbers that screwed you on a swap and don't swap with those drivers. Just because you are going home don't mean you can be late on loads.crxdc and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
Ok was told to wait for him and he will take the load and finished it. They said he can wait while the consighnee works him in since he will be late as he slept in and I'll keep Rollin with his 3 stop load

You know I sat with my driver manager when I was getting my truck in the shop to see how things operate behind the scenes and I got to witness a lot of that. Two DM's and planner would try to get together to do a driver a favor or fix a problem and the driver would do something like that, like over sleep or stop responding and just completely screw up a perfect plan that took forever to come together. After the driver agreed to do it. Then that driver would be pissed off when they unwound the plan.

It's always someone back in the office.
I didn't realize we could do that. I have always gone in and said hi few a minutes to my DM and few others, but didn't want to get in the way; so, I always just went about my business. Gonna have to see about doing that next time I am in Sapulpa.Last edited: Sep 27, 2015
