You know Dave 1960... was thinking about you the other day... when a friend of mine told me she moved to Tacoma, WA and was overwhelmed by the amount of driving jobs they have there....
She is a truck driver... used to pull tankers, then reefer, then did some temporary work for various job agencies, hauled mail... She checked the truck driving job market in WA and saw a lot of potential... When she moved there, sent applications and got tons of response... Most local jobs, offering at least $20.00 a hr... Now she is making over $22.00 a hr, driving day cab, running local... sometimes she has to load and unload trlr but she is ok with that... She is seeking pulling doubles and will be making almost $90,000.00 a year and working no more than 12 hrs a day...
I understand you don't want to move anywhere to get a better job and better pay, but since you mentioned driving a big truck again... maybe local...? I think there are a lot more opportunities in your area than you might think.... Just saying... :biggrin_25519:

I'm at this tight Pilot in AZ since yesterday, taking my 34...

One of our members stopped by here today... and I gave him a Peterbilt hat that my company had given me... but I don't wear hats and he asked for it... and I gave it to him...
Will deliver tomorrow morning near Phoenix and then head to CA for another donation load that will be going to company warehouse...
Beautiful sunny day here... still warm enough to make me forget winter is coming...

#1 was Metrix near the Horse Track to SDV.
Was to be two order numbers but one I got last week by the PO Number. 1 carton 6#
#2 was Pipeline Packaging down by Hobby Airport to Univar 1 pallet 340#
#3 was to be Gaffney Kroese to SDV. I got close to there and he said cancelled.
#3 in actuality was Rovsco on Some road in west Houston to SDV given as 600# actually 140# pallet.

Got to SDV at 4:55. Got out 5:10.
    Got home 6:20.
Took the battery out of the Mitsubishi because the truck wasn't starting. Both batteries cranked it up. At the posts each battery was getting alternator juice. Should make a big difference.

Tall Mike and chopper103in Thank this.

And I tried my new power inverter here.. It worked quite well.... Did a shake with melon, milk and something else... I forgot the name... it tasted yummy.... now to the kitchen sink inside Pilot to wash the cup... That filled me up right... May have something else later... something light before I go to bed...

Yeah.... I have 2 microwaves... in the storage though... :biggrin_2559: Actually, don't need them in the truck... :biggrin_25512: I cook old fashion... on the burner... and will start using the slow cooker as soon as I get some dry beans... Cook enough for a couple meals only... not much room in my cooler... already full with vegetables, fruits, milk, yogurt... Used to have a small refrigerator in other trucks... but this one has no room for it... :biggrin_25513: Don't want to put refri on my bed or on the bed upstairs... That's fine... cooler is doing ok... so far...

    Tall Mike Thanks this.
