Go to the Favorites section and read the first 20 to 30 pages of the Glad I Moved To Poly, after that it should be called the What Did JD get Us Into thread:)

Home time is, no more than 9 or 10 business days(as in weekdays) not counting holidays and weekends providing you are averaging a minimum 8000 miles a month

Poly's website is vague at best...may as well look at a newspaper or truck stop want-ad book. There is a place to download an application that you fax back(yes, I said fax). You can scan it into your phone or computer and e-mail, but no faq section. Only an e-mail(or their use to be) where you can send them a question via e-mail, and pray they get around to answering. Keep in mind, when you apply or e-mail, you are talking to an HR department that is also responsible for applications for all of Poly America. So they get applications from people interested in sweeping the floor up to chemists for the R&D department. And this is a BIG corporation with 3 (and soon to be 4) production plants and 1 recycling processing plant.

7 business days, does not include holidays or weekends so you could end up to 10 plus days off. does not include day you get home or day you leave. also only if you empty out then go home empty.

actually its after 7 business days so on the 8th business day you would have to take a load, unless you had to stay home a few more days for somthin important and okayed it with supervisor first, which if you have a good reason shouldn't be a problem

You'll have more time off then you need.
That's one thing that is not an issue at poly.

JD talked it up cause he made it work for him. The guy I went through orientation with says he doing fantastic here. He works and doesn't stop , he gets on the boards at the earliest possible times and take loads that leave the earliest and refuses nothing , he'll stay out there long enough to bank a nice chunk of change then finally after maybe 6 weeks goes home for 3 or 4 days. He's blowing me away , I don't care either. I go home a week a month , he has his health , I'm trying to get mine better. See the difference in priorities ???
What works for him absolutely would not work for me , and I'm sure what works for me , probably would even come close for him.
It's all about what is most important to you individually, unless you want what you want and what everyone else wants too. Then it's unrealistic expectations , not easily satisfied by any company.

can't disagree with most i read but what i have a problem with is all the things people complain about are things that chemstar and jd posted bout in the beginning, we kno they do paper logs, pay cash for tolls,no breakdown pay, maintenance issues and last i checked i have never seen it anywhere or did anyone promise me a certain amount of miles or money that i would make, most otr jobs pay between 50k-70k so somewhere in the middle is 60k, some better companies pay is higher and some its lower, anyone expecting to make 65k-70k every single yr at any of these companies is a fool, who are you gonna blame when the economy tanks, everyone is always a victim, for the record i left poly, i had many reasons some were personal, i have thought about coming back thats why i keep up with whats going on, i keep in contact with some drivers who are still there and its still the same for them, also if your waiting on back hauls why would a broker want to deal with a company that you come on here and say all the trucks are breaking down, if you owned the truck would you go and tell all the brokers how much you have broke down? kinda like biting the hand that feeds you if you ask me. my question is how many companies does one have to complain about before we realize that maybe its not all the companies they work for but maybe its them? for the record i don't agree with a lot that is going on in trucking, its not the same as it was 20 yrs ago and for the record I'm not complaining, I'm fine in my life, I'm just tired of the victim mentality, poly didn't promise me anything,i knew what i was gettn onto, i knew its not for everybody, any other questions or does anyone else wanna come drive for poly and complain about the same things you've already been told, or maybe you just don't how to read.

one last thing as far as breakdown pay, lets just say you only get 47cpm paid by the hub, still better than most, you run 100k in a yr and put away 3cpm for breakdown, that equals $3k a yr, you breakdown for for 30 days total, thats 100 a day for breakdown about the same as most but still not including the extra miles you could get for running a different rte or going out of route to avoid a storm, so whats the problem? oh thats right you didn't make 65-70k a year, i guess you will be screwed and blaming someone else if the economy takes a downturn. whaaaaaaaaa

also I'm certain you could find some of my posts complaining on here, the difference is i woke up and looked in the mirror.
