Hey we do get long run loads from time to time, I am on a load that I picked up in Jersey City on Friday that delivers on Wed in St Paul MN. Fortunately I can drop it in Coon Rapids today and pick up another load tomorrow to keep me going.
For anyone reading this and considering Magnum please keep in mind that the first few months are going to be a two way learning street, then more miles will come. Over the thanksgiving holiday my freight sucked with all of the drivers out west and in the south going home, I worked (and continue to work) with dispatch to find better routes.
SSB I feel your pain, my transition to trucking from my previous life has been financially challenging to say the least, but in the long run I can see it working out. Take that breath and hey remember I gave you my number so if you ever need to call do so, I'm just holding a wheel most days...well and looking at my mirrors keeping a safe following distance you know, doing that trucker stuff.

I think SSB has a couple legitimate complaints. I would call Chad on Monday. Complaining on here does nothing. Just stirs the pot.
I hope your wives health and your financial issues work out quick.
I've had crappy weeks here at Magnum... I had a 6 day load from NJ to TX.. Wasn't any fault but a scheduling mistake. Magnum made good on it though. Paid me for the extra days. I've also had 3500 mile weeks. I average somewhere between 2500 and 3000.
Yes... The truck is slow... Knew that coming in. Really doesn't bother me. Put on music... Sit back and enjoy the sounds and scenery.
Yes, CH Robinson isn't the best broker. I've has a couple dog loads, and a couple of the best loads I've had...
I try to look at the big picture. I drove 120,000+ miles between Oct14 and Oct15.... I get treated with respect. I don't get nit picked or micromanaged, I have good equipment, a responsive shop, detention, layover and breakdown pay....
Im happy... If I wasn't I would get a job closer to home, with more hometime.runningman0661, Ordy19, Zelda K and 1 other person Thank this. -
Hang in there SSB , I was in the drivers lounge
at Poly a few days ago , one fellow just came in off an 11 day breakdown , and another driver whose only been there 5 months has been
laid up in a hotel with break downs 6 times already . I just came out of the shop recently and have 2 massive air leaks that started last night , I myself need to get it to s roadside shop
before the DOT shuts me down . -
do anybody have any info on magnums lease program?

As for many of the other replies...ya'll are probably right...and I am venting a bit. I have to figure out how to live on 120k miles or less, at $.42 per mile that way, anything above and beyond is extra play money....even if that means filing bankruptcy to lower my debt. With this truck and motor, the only way I see myself making any more than 7 mpg or over 10k miles per month is to stay on a ND to TX and back cycle.
As for the old toll pass still working, the answer is yes. And I knew Ipass accepted Ezpass, but I didn't realize Ipass worked outside IL. Took a max cash advance so I could pay my way thru Joisey...got to the entrance of the NJtpk, went thru the ticket/ Ezpass lane...stopped, and waited for a ticket to print, then looked at the digital screen and it said 'Ezpass accepted'.
Oh, and 11 am on a Sunday and the Bordentown Love's is packed...looks like I will be spending my 34 in the Pay-tro.Last edited: Dec 6, 2015
