Is there a hotel near Mercer that drivers use?

I stayed at one over the bridge that allowed truck parking. I for get the name (ramada or holiday inn). Has a good restaurant and stuff. I know drivers go there to eat often. I think many drivers stay someplace else on this side.

    HalpinUout Thanks this.

So it only took over three years but mercer finally finished taking the escrow today. I'm gonna miss the giggles at those 70 cent hold backs.

Some others mentioned that, interesting situation I hadn't thought about. Like my first effort to back up to a dock and had the splitter in hi range, lol

My first couple trucks were very old. 2 cycle Detroit's. I was cranking it up one morning and I must of let of the starter button right at a compression stroke cause it fired up a fraction of a second later. I just left it run you warm up while I went back in the house to fill up my thermos and make a couple sandwiches for lunch. Twenty minutes later or so when I went to pull out I backed into the barn in second gear. What the hell?! I'm in second gear why am I going backwards?!
I spent half a day trying to figure out what broke before swallowing my pride enough to cal my dad and ask for help. He just laughed, called me a dumb kid and told me to start it up again but make sure I didn't take my fingerfof the button to soon this time. If I had paid a little more attention I'd have seen the smoke pouring out the intake.

Mtoo and frt60 are old farts so I'm sure they know what I'm taking about, but for you young bucks, the 2 cycles would actually start up and run backwards. Sucking air from the exhaust and pushing exhaust out the intake.

Ive been waiting 12wks for my trailer and the recruiters keep telling me that im on the list ans only the "trailer guys" know about upcoming deliveries. But i cant get anyone to ask them! Standard answer. I know flats and steps were quite a wait but 3 months seems excessive. Vans are available all the time.

Had a couple of two stroke Detroits, had the funniest idle. Like the engine fired, took time off, fired, nothing etc.
