Anyone know any info if i go through company sponsored driving school. No one around where i live accepts the gibill. Well there is actually one but its a fri night sat and sun class and take 14 weeks to complete. And i cant honestly see myself forking upfront money to go to school when i can use the gibill. Or have a company sponsor me for an extended period of time
Any good recommendation on company sponsored cdl programs.

You would still be better off paying for cdl school out of pocket; many companies reimburse tuition with monthly payments back to you. -

Swift has CDL schools all over the country and the $3900 tuition is waived for veterans .
-
Is there a commitment to swift after the cdl even if u are a veteran. I really dont want to work for swift. The school would be nice but not working for them lol
-
You have never worked for Swift, so how can you say you would not want to?
From all the bad hype?
I've been with Swift for 5 years now.
There are a few problem areas, but you will have that with any company.
And some, actually many more than Swift.
I went through a private school, then decided on Swift.
I'm not sorry, in the least.
If you learn how things work here you will do fine.
As far as I know the only commitment is to pay the bill, and they actually pay you back over 2 years of time - unless like A21CAV said it is waived up front.
The first year they take it out of your pay, then during the second year they pay you back.
It is a win-win situation for all concerned. -
I would look at Prime out of Springfield, MO. They have a training program that is very good, they are very supportive of veterans, and there commitment is 1 year. The starting pay and training pay are also very good compared to a lot of other training companies. The treat drivers very well and the trucks aren't bare bone base modles. The only thing you'll really find that people on here complain about is how slow they think the trucks are governed at. There are a lot of threads on here about Prime and there program.
