No it wont, not an 8ft tall load. 3x 16 is exactly 48. Nothing left to cover the front or back. And I like to have about 3feet of over lap at each joint. Now that being said, very few loads are really 48 long. So 3 plus two smoke tarps usually do it.

There is a load in Jersey asking for 8 foot tarp, I can take to Ohio and go to north Carolina and double back a bit to my dad's for Christmas.

I went around north jersey today asking if people sell tarps at truck supply places. Nope none. I might buy a harbor freight one. Get three uses out of it?

Google truck tarps and add the closest major city. Someone there sells them

That had to be a mistake. What good is an 8 ft wide tarp. Don't you mean 24x27 for 8 ft drop?

And yes, we have a van division. How they do depends on who you ask, some guys I know are doing as food add I am on the flat side, others for whatever reason can't make a dollar. my uneducated opinion on it, is that the ones that are doing bad, either are completely stupid and can't figure out lanes, or are way too picky on what loads they pull and to where. If you're gonna do van, you have to be willing to go everywhere. Including Canada and the west coast.

It shouldn't matter if you have freight on the back or not. What your essentially doing is moving the suspension forward. Think like a trailer with sliding tandems when you slide forward the trailer takes more weight. That's exactly what you're doing by dumping the back axle.
