Well after a very slick start in Ontario and up to Caldwell, I'm stopped at the Traveller's Oasis in Eden, ID. DOT has I 84 shut down from I 86 to the state line. Conditions in Utah don't seem much better, nor are the conditions on I 15 south of Idaho Falls and it Utah.

Just got home...after an exciting night with cross winds and pouring rain from Brooks to Roseburg....dry pavement to Ashland, then up Siskiyou and wet pavement but plenty of snow....CA side finally got some up there. About 30 minutes ago another of our drivers is just leaving Tacoma and it's snowing hard, big wet flakes, not sticking to the road surface but it is to the trees and ground.

At least we don't have those crazy December Tornado warnings and watches like they are getting in that eastern alley!

And Joe....news just reported Folsom is up 10' and Tahoe is up 2'.....that's a lot of water to bring Tahoe up 2 foot! Seattle news last night put snow depth to date at 111", the entire year for 2014/15 was only 107 for Snowqualmie.....ya know the one on 90 not on 82,...or was that 84?????

Will be getting loaded tonight from Seattle area to St Paul MN area. Watching news right now show Snoqualmie Pass slammed with snow, reporting 10 hour run between Seattle and Spokane. Thinking about routing south to Portland and across that way up to Spokane and points east.

Don't get all the way down to the OR side....14 would be a better shot over to 97. Any way you choose...it's ugly and will be with you or chasing you all the way it looks!

    Stay safe......

Run the 2 lane from Declo to Snowville UT. It's usually not as bad as 84.

Challis, ID to Langley BC. Took 93 to 90. 21 hours, and we NEVER. TOUCHED A CHAIN.... We earned that one....

Coming back, chaining Snoqualmie for snow, and 40 miles of the Blues on 84 for dry pavement.

Someone needs to smack some sense into Oregon DOT.

Long FLD and Al. Roper Thank this.
