I heard ( but don't know) it was to open just after New Years.

@Broker Bob you are right (I hate to say) most shippers are asking for CARB compliant trucks. Many won't even take trucks on the 1000 mile exemption even.

We can all moan and groan about the CA laws. But it is what it is. We either adapt or find another field. Someone is going to make a lot of money off of these laws. Heck I think I could if I had a little more capital.

Many drivers don't like the new trucks for whatever reason. That's fine, leaves more freight for me. The new station will suck for many. But I don't think most of us really need to worry. Just don't have a turbo about to go or a truck that blows black smoke.

Mr yellow, you got your truck through exemptions. How is this going to effect you?

Or better yet how about everybody stop going to California and then when the state don't have any trucks to run their freight in or out then maybe they'll get the hint

Nevermind Broker Bob...... He's the same moron who used to go on 'GetLoaded's' message board a few years back and harass all the owner-operators looking for freight.

He's from Texas and He Brags about moving freight from Texas to the Midwest for a 'Buck a Mile" Buck a mile Bob we Called this guy

That's good in theory but not really practical. I live out west and Cali pays well, better then the east coast at the moment.

He has never done anything with me then. I don't move fore les then 2. And that better be 2.5k miles. Cheaper to park my truck.

They changed the rules for my exemption the day after I bought my truck so that to qualify you had to have owned the truck for at least 2 years. I spent a great deal of time talking with various CARB officials and was told there was nothing I could do -- officially it is not compliant. I actually could have bought a 1994-1995 truck with a dirtier engine and still been legal (and on top of that not been forced to buy elogs)

I asked the lady what she would do in my shoes and she basically said "run it." I saved the email exchange in case I ever do get a CARB ticket, but I'd just prefer to avoid the aggravation altogether and only go to CA to go home 4-5 times a year...

When it opens my plan is to run south on 95 and stop in at the Laughlin Harrahs en route to the I 40 W.
