We know mercer isn't doing a lease purchase, but the perception is that it does and it's a walk in the door with nothing but an ink pen. With that, the reputation is tarnished just like with the other lp operations.

 

Yep. Perception is greater than reality when it comes to something like reputation or image.

Ok, so, I have to chime in. I'm not coming to the defense of the Quality trucks as a whole. I definitely agree with what you guys are saying. Anytime someone has no consequences the only thing that can get them to succeed is self-determination and pride. I am having no issue, but I grew up in the Marine Corps and served some time myself. I don't know the meaning of the word failure and I have way to much self pride to make myself look like an ###. I also leased for 4 years before coming here on a worse deal. I have no idea how someone can't make it here, regardless of their starting position. I do believe that laziness and lack of knowledge on how to run a business is the likely reason though. All that being said, please don't judge all of us by the few (or many) idiots out there.

 

That's the kind of stuff you can't learn in a few hours of flatbed school. Mercer past----- we had that learning curve some place else and survived. Mercer reputation was great and the shippers knew this.
