I'm sure the rate has gone up, but if memory serves me right, it was closer to five k for a typical sized tractor trailer. at any rate, we send trucks up there several times a year so you could just call permits and find out.
Those specific loads being discussed here probably have the ferry rate already taken out, similar to any od loads we get.

the last load I considered taking up there was out of Laredo and paid more than double what that one does. You have to really want to see alaska to consider any load under twenty grand and expect any kind of profit off it.

So the 12,000 is on top of the "free" boat ride?

I would think so. If not, that's done REALLY cheap freight. less than free.

I saw a Mercer driver, with some kinda dualsport motorcycle, honda xr650l maybe? attached to his headache rack with a little motorcycle crane. So jealous. I plan to do the same. Anyone else seen this person?

Yep Louisville can fix it. And Louisville did fix it. I can tolerate screw up, incompetence and a variety of other things which I listed. If I had not asked about this every single working day since 28th of December. I would not have a problem, both my coordinator and I called and emailed etc about this over and over, and mtoo i will say its debatable about this being a good agent, they are one of the highest revenue agents, but high revenue and good are two separate discussions. Trust me, of the twenty some odd trucks on this, things were really not hard to see. Its one reason even though I live 60 miles away, I very seldom haul for them, because nothing , a lot doesn't make the board.

What disappointback and forth before I headed home, it was you have to talk to Louisville, and then. You have to get the agent to do it, no one got their head out their rear till I headed home, I am still wound up, this went way up the food chain, my coordinator. Has it all on email, when ya can print out proof it helps, what I doing tonite is figuring out the app on phone that will record phone conversations, another point was being able to prove how many times I had called the agent about this.

Skate, I was equating good agent to high revenue in Mercer's eyes. Glad it worked out!
