I think it's programmed to show shortest miles to make the rates appear higher.

It uses city center on the dh and pretty close to doorstep to doorstep on the loaded miles, that's why the difference

Schneider uses household goods for the paid miles. Dead head miles are pretty much air miles. Sometimes the paid miles will almost be dead on if your delv is on a near straight part of the interstate same with dh
I use pcmiler on my laptop and check all miles on trips, even the short route on pcmiler is well over the paid miles on the board 90% of the time. Many of the loads are short by 50 to 65 paid miles and much more using practical routing
Speak with D.H in green bay he'll tell ya straight out this is how it is.

They have to show air miles for the deadhead or the calculations would be too intense for say a 100 load list. It works the same way when I use points of interest with my GPS. The list shows straight line miles, then it will calculate the actual miles once selected.

The truth wouldn't being in new hires as rapidly as they come in now. Or keep current drivers here very long. Just gotta put up with it and move on from it down the road.

you know, personally I have a bit of respect for Schneider. But, the whole mileage thing has always been one of my weak spots. For the love of Pete, this is 2016......we all KNOW how many miles it is from here to there. How about changing your business model and start charging / paying the actual miles?? To do otherwise make SNI look cheap (on the good side), and / or fraudulent on the bad side.

Not much out of the ordinary going on (that's good!!). Currently running a load from New Bern, NC up to Chicagoland and have myself booked back to Texas to get home for next weekend.
