What's the best way to go east Texas from Idaho? GPS says i70, Google maps says cut thru new Mexico. Im assuming i70 would be better plowed. I wonder if new Mexico would be dicey in January.

It's not too bad, been up there a few times since Thanksgiving. My last load I pulled from up past Kalispell, MT. You just have to time it right, that's all.

Me, personally, I'd probably run 84 to 80 to 25 to 70 to US-287, depending on where in East Texas I was trying to get.

You didn't get a new trailer? Heck even my 08 has led lights. That's a surprise

I always did it based on weather in the winter but if had my choice I ran down to Gallup across then cut down from Santa Rosa NM thru clovis and hit 20 in sweetwater

I have a weak truck and I have 44k on the deck. I'm wondering if the NM route would be easier than WY.

Yeah, NM would probably be easier. You have a few climbs but they are typically smaller. Soldier Summit is smaller than Parley's, and there are a few small climbs between Green River and Gallup. They are small but steep.
