Headed to Dallas to warm up, and then a broker load from Tyler TX up to cold Little Shute WI for Monday. -
Speaking of floating; when Magnum takes you on a driving test, do they expect you to double clutch, float, or whichever you choose?
I learned to drive a truck floating. I double clutched only on my cdl road test and even then out of habit I floated several gears. -
WalterSobchak Thanks this.

Right now Magnum is the leader in the clubhouse for me. I do have another question though. If I wanna run hard and stay out can this company keep me moving consistently? I realize there will be times when you are sitting but within reason is this company good about keeping the drivers moving?

Anybody coming to the twin cities be careful for the cold. I'm in Gaylord now and Saturday night they are saying 20 below without the wind chill.

Finally got through training & got my own truck. 2015 with 182k on it. Seems to be in great shape. Hooked on to a preloaded at the Fargo terminal this morning & am sitting at the Pilot in Racine, WI for delivery in Sturtevant mañana. Then load in Racine going right back to Fargo. Was hoping to stay out of the super-cold that's coming & get to Texas to get my things, but...
cdavis188, tallinthesaddle4life and Ordy19 Thank this. -
Well, I managed to get a bit of a chuckle out of Ashley today. When I spoke to her about my next load after I deliver Saturday, she offered to let me drop it and pick up a load and keep moving. So I accepted her offer. She had a 1600 mile PA load that delivers Tuesday, a bunch into IL and IN a load to Denver and the load I picked, a 1 stop to Dacula, GA that delivers Monday. The way I got her to chuckle was when she said GA, I jumped on it...saying I would like to be warm for a load... Now I don't know if me being a southern boy wanting to stay warm, or if my thinking what we've seen so far really isn't cold in North Dakota's ranking of what is cold...but, either way, I was mildly amusing.
I like these light loads. My Kalamazoo load is only 10k, and my trucks digital MPG screen just touched 9 mpg jist before I stopped for the night.
