I book loads out of California all the time before I even get a load out there. I was on my way to Florida last week and saw a load out of California, called the agent and got it....it was up to me to figure out how to get there which I obviously did. It's about knowing the lanes and who I need to keep in communication with. I know agents that have regular customers....it's pretty easy to figure out.

Lol ok I'll give you that.

Well I'll head back when I have to stop doing what we talked about on the phone. It's hard to drive more than 200 miles a day right now. I'm getting 4-5 calls a day begging me to do this little over the hill run. I've named my price with all the local agents and they are all beating it now. Lots of stuff out here. I'm glad everyone hates the snow.

Well, you put that a lot more friendly than i was going to. I deleted mine right before posting cause I realized it was way too harsh.

but let's give him some credit, he is trying to come over here to the good life pulling a flat. If he picks up on the way to run here, in six months he won't start his truck for 1600/week.

However, if he ever again mentions a freightliner cascadia in context with high end truck, we gotta send him back to the pumpkin farm. Thats just an unforgivable offense.

It's amazing how a simple call to an agent saying "I'll be in (point A) on Tuesday, do you think we can find something to (point B) by Friday?" Will get you a easy load. But you can't tell many of these people that. I'm booked for 2 $500 16 mile loads next week on the same day. I had an agent call me today asking to cover a load. I said I would if he could find me a load to those I already had booked. 20 mins later he did and now.... Well you understand.

Lol. I can't say much. My last truck was a Cascadia. But I know I never said High End. They are good trucks tho.

You are absolutely right @CJndaTruck I had a 5 day gap between delivering in LA and picking up in San Diego. Originally planned on hanging out with some friends for a few days, phone rings while heading to TX today and sure enough I'm booked through those 5 days all over $3/mile. Short runs, very light, and couldn't be happier. It's amazing what happens when you take care of someone when they need your help.

Btw, killer money you have going on right now!!! That's awesome!

It's fitting my lazy Mercerized rear. I've taken so much time off since Thanksgiving that it's been really hard to get back in the swing of things. These short $$$ runs have been sweet. But this won't be an October. It will just look good comparing $pm. Oh an laziness. Lol

Like others have stated. When I'm pre planning that mean today is Friday and next Friday I have a load booked going to Texas. I'm #50 on the board for Texas TODAY so if I see a load the following Monday I call the agent or commit to it. It runs the board and I get it. Why??? Well we'll assume trucks 1-10 are at home. 11-20 is not gonna wait until next Monday to book a load. 21-30 are steps and it's a flat only load. 31-40 dont wanna tarp. 41-49 doesn't like the area it's going and then me, with a smile on my face booked a load a week out.
