Written tests for class A

General, Combination, Air Brakes - that's about it to get your permit.

 

If you already hold a B CDL I think all you will need is the combination vehicle test to upgrade to the A. I upgraded several years ago and all I took was the Combo Vehicle test. I already had the air brakes and tank vehicle.

 

Here in Ohio they have a Skip button on the electronic machines. Use it if needed and you'll skip past before guessing at a question you don't know. I didn't realize I could do that, a valuable hint.

 

I belive the skiped q's come back around at the end, sometimes rephrased, sometimes the exact same ones. Just gives you a chance to revist it

 

That's true but you could pass before having to answer the one or two confusing ones.
