They are most likely covering your truck with liability insurance. The truck owner would pay for comprehensive /collision insurance to pay for damage to the truck.

 

i was approved by SNI but not SFI after they had a CRM contact me, so i dont know if there was a misunderstanding or they have different policies for the lease. i sent a few emails to check.

 

Ahh ... then you asked the question incorrectly. SFI is not concerned with your driving experience ... they are concerned with your business experience in general and trucking business specifically, among other factors ... the fact that you construed that insurance would some how play into their decision indicates, that in your case, SFI has made the right decision.

 

Did they decide that after the phone interview with sfi? And did they give a reason?

 

she only asked me if i was working, i said no, i have been off for 8 months, she didn't ask about my finances or how much i had to put down on a truck. i have very little debt but she didn't ask about that or anything to do with money or business. she said they required recent otr exp and ended it there. i asked about the insurance because it didn't make sense to me she said i could be a company driver for 6 months and then move to choice.

First question to ask is what they mean exactly by "recent otr experience"
