I would think so. Personally i could see if one truck was doing a relay and decided too take his break while he was there and took two parking spots but when you have 15 trucks and 25 trailers in a gated fence that to me is just wrong IMO. I personally never like too leave my truck at a truck stop on time off unless I'm Physically in it doing a 34hr reset. Accidents have been happening more and more frequently in truck stops than on the road. I'd hate too come back and see my mirror torn off or part of the sleeper cab has a dent in it. Even though i have a dash cam and its recording 24/7 unless I'm at home. I still dont like parking at a truck stop when i take time off and it doesn't have too be at my house.
Where do you park your truck during off days?

You are incorrect

Parking a truck long term and unattended at a truck stop is a bad idea on a lot of levels, but do what you want. If you come back with a fender gone and no one to go to for repair costs, don't expect your company boss to be very understanding.
Cw5110 and Canned Spam Thank this. -
Could that not happen anywhere you are parked?

To clarify, I dont park at truck stops, and I talking about someone leaving a truck for a day or 2, not a week or so

Reminds me of a time I saw a well known flatbed companies truck and trailer sitting out front of an abandoned Walmart. Trailer was loaded with those rough sort of molten copper sheets with no tarps, just straps. Sat there for 3 days. -
ANYTHING and i mean ANYTHING can happen within 48hrs. I had someone hit my headlight and scratched my hood as well as my bumper while i was shut down do too inclement weather. Not even 24hrs within a 34hr rest. Thankfully I was in the sleeper and my dashcam caught it.ajohnson Thanks this.

The you have never had the pleasure of not finding a parking place when the spots are taken and the people are sitting at home. Or a empty trailer is sitting there all weekend.
I have never left my truck at a ts and when went home. And when I take time off from home I find a secure place to park it...even if I have to pay for it.
You want to drive a truck proper planning on where to park during hometime is part of it. And that doesn't mean screwing over another story.
Funny story here...We have a driver that lives in Ft Pierce,Fl. He leaves the trailer at a ts there "because I can't park it where I live". I needed a trailer, so I took it. Him and his dispatcher thought it was stolen, tucker Thanks this. -
That time forces me to park illegally and not some place where I can have some comfort

I had parked my truck at our LTL terminal in New Columbia PA too take time off during the 4th of july and ended up getting a rental car too drive 80 some miles too Scranton PA just for a three day weekend Yeah it might have costed me gas and rental fees but I had piece of mind that my truck wont get hit or stolen. Yes I'm aware of the huge Petro. But I'm also aware someone scraped my mirror their while i was inside eating dinner.
