Last time I looked (it's been some time now) at the SNI program; they were overloaded on Choice program. Which makes it hard to get a good paying load. So, I decided to stay where I'm at.

But, Steel's statement still holds true for alot of programs out there.
You know Prime L/P only get reimbursed 28% of the reefer cost. Plus trailer rental, they also pay their own IFTA. If they train, then the students pay comes from the L/P driver that is training them. At a rate of $700/week from what I was told.

I have to run 4000 miles to equal one of their truck payments. That's not including fixed costs.

Those are things a lot of people overlook: trailer rental fee, reefer fuel, IFTA, lumpers, 100% tolls, 100% permits, Pre Pass, Pike Pass, EZ Pass.....All 100% covered by JCT.

Each one of those items translates into a few pennies per mile. In addition, JCT pays the full rate for empty miles AND pays the full fuel surcharge on empty miles. Not many companies offer that.

One could conceivably argue that sort of off sets the lower based pay compared to some other companies.

With greater risks comes the possibility of greater rewards! That being said, having spent more than 8 years at JCT leaving was one of the hardest decisions ever. Great company, consistent miles, and strong business and personal relationships. I left with my eyes wide open and have no regrets.
As to the question about how far is to far to drive out of route? the number 80 was thrown out there... 80 over 100 paid no, 80 over 1000 for a ton of reasons DEFINITELY~

I just posted the link to this forum onto the JCT Facebook page in order to drum up some activity here. Seems like it's the same 5 or 6 ppl on here anymore.

One is the mapping and main GPS, the other is daily mileage and set on the info page that has all the instant particulars. In my case the newest update fixed my old 5" Garmin, so why not use it?

Jax area? I live in the NW area and there is jack NUTHIN' there. In fact the town I live in just went all anti truck. No trucks allowed in city limits beyond delivery or picking up. In fact the city TOWED a guys tractor FROM HIS DRIVEWAY!!!! Big lawsuit about to drop there...

Thanks for the correction. I was going by what a former Prime L/P driver was telling me.

Do they really charge you to call you from dispatch? I swear I saw that somewhere.
