KKW Trucking Company will probably hire you. They run Western states and Texas. They're in Pomona but hire all over California.
joetrucker66 Thanks this. -
To be clear, I'm talking about their test from their state DMV- not from a company..
To the OP- MOST (I'm sure not ALL) SYSCO plants are going to require that you've had your CDL for minimum of 1 year.. I'd still look into- but that's just a heads up..Other food service and beverage companies probably don't have that same requirement.. -

Show me this "simple search".. I've only seen people concerned about it because that's what we're all told.. I've been wrong plenty of times, and if I'm wrong on this, hey its nothing new..lol.. I just have never interacted with anyone that actually HAS the restriction- even though we've all heard about it -

There ya go.. Thanks.. So why is it so inconsistently enforced? I don't expect you to know that, its rhetorical..lol.. We all hear about it, but very rarely is it ever enforced.. Is it a state thing (because there are NY drivers that tested in an auto with no restriction), a county thing, or an individual DMV officer thing?
For the record- I'm in FAVOR of the restriction.. I just don't understand the inconsistency -
Lots of good advice here. If you don't want to go otr be prepared to bust your ### doing food or beverage delivery. If you get lucky enough you might get into a LTL company doing pick up and delivery. It can be tough at times but not nearly as intense as food/bev
If you get into a decent company you can do around a 1000 week gross. Entry level 50-52k a year is pretty darn good. Otr entry level wages you won't come close to that at MOST places. Say you started otr at 33 cents/mile and did roughly 2300mi/wk that comes out to $759 week or just under 40k a year. To me that extra 10-12k a year is worth it for that added labor. What I stated for food service was on the low end. I worked for a not so good company and on a 2 driver turn and burn I would do about 1200 on a high case count weekLast edited: Mar 6, 2016
