We had a couple of Chiefs that liked to turn wrenches and that was cool. It was usually cause a airman smarted off that he could do something faster than the Chief. If you could reverse a RE4 General discharge I would go back today. I loved the Navy. It was my life. I was so dedicated that as a AD2 I had 3 AD1's under me. I made a mistake that got blew out of proportion and had a skipper that absolutely loved admin boards and I got the boot.

    Cangst,

Sorry to hear that. Did not mean to bring up any bad memories or experiences.

Hopefully things will work out and you will get on with Crete. Evertrukerr has definately put his company in a positive light.

    CANGST Thanks this.

Guys, I understand that you want to discuss your Navy life....don't hijack this thread....My husband is a retired SCPO and I understand what you are saying, but this is Evertruckerrs thread and we want to hear from him. Send private messages or whatever, but lets keep the thread on point. Most folks don't know the acronyms you are using.:biggrin_25514:If you use them, then explain them!

Good luck to all of you!:biggrin_25525:

When did we get a pay cut??? I know they slowed us down but we were not usually dispatched at 65 anyway. I normally had more than enough time to get there and deliver. Now, it just takes a little longer so we don't sit and idle waiting for our appt time.

And I did have words with breakdown. The same trailer that had the wiring screwed up in ogden decided to blow an air line off of the service line at the fitting on the glad-hand. Needless to say, it wasn't tightened up enough to compress the brass ferrel against the line. Thankfully it blew after I had made it through all the canyons and passes in the mountains. It waited until I was looking for the customer that didn't have directions, and had to brake hard to keep from missing them. Now I know I could have fixed it myself in less than 5 minutes....but in keeping with my new-old attitude, I had to get breakdown involved. They asked if I could fix it enough to get to a shop. I told them they could kiss my Cannoli. '#### it Jim, I'm a driver, not a mechanic' (Dr. McCoy from original Star Trek) any way, I had plenty of time on the load, Modesto to Atlanta with no set appt time and a guess of 6 days for them to set me a time. So I waited. I was thanked by the repair guy, he said he need more repairs like this!!! After it was all said and done, I got back to Merced pilot and parked next to a Shaffer/Crete (like me) that was on his first run after getting a new Carrier APU installed. And his truck number is only 33 lower than mine....maybe I'll get one for Christmas :)

good lord this truck is more of a turd than it was before. it seem to you guys like they took power out of 9th too?

10th gear is more of a bother than its worth half the time, but i cant get off the #### east coast, hope its better on flat land.

interested to see what i end up with for fuel economy, prior to being turned down i averaged 5.94 for 2887.3 gallons.
