Truckstop Scams? Lets post our stories.

I grew up in Manhattan. Mid 80's to mid 90's 18 to 28. Most of you are idiots. I met a girl while on vaykay in FLA. Most of me is an idiot.

 

I had a girl with a 6 gallon gas can come over and some story about trying to make it to somewhere. I told her I didn't have any cash but I would prepay some gas at the station across the street. She agreed to that and we went over there. I prepaid enough to fill it up and she did.
It was worth it just to see her trying to carry it away.

 

It's a sad thing when we can't trust someone in need, versus the scammer.

I've given money to those that I pretty much knew were scamming me.
I've given money to those that I truly felt for.
I have also turned many away simply because I was being selfish and wanted to keep my money in my own pocket.

The bottom line is this...
Do you help people that are in need when you have the resources to do it, or do you walk away.

I've bought quite of few chains & binders even a smoke tarp from guys who were fed up with their company lol!!!

 

Heard a guy on the CB trying to sell his CB and spare tire. Drivers trying to sell things on the CB are usually to that point of hungry so yes I try to help if I can. This guy had his wife and dog with him, they hadn't eaten that day and had spent all their advance money for the week. He wanted $30 for the spare tire, just enough to make it to the next day payday. Good tire, gave the guy a $50 dollar bill, fair trade.

At another truck stop I see this group of guys, all cheering their 'friend' who just won big at the casino and was giving hundred dollar bills away. Turns out they want you to play their 3 card monte game which is rigged for them to win. Anyway cops show up and I go back to the shop lounge since my truck was in the shop. These same scammers came into the lounge then out through the shop area like they knew all the techs and stuff. Got into their cars and made a clean escape from the cops. I showed the girl the 3 $100 dollar bills in my pocket and she turned white as a sheet thinking they had given me the money and not gotten it back. It was asif the shop guys all shared in the loot they steal from drivers and she was worried their 'take' would be $300 short.

 

I see the Turdblo3000 at some of the TA shops still!

 

Here's another; Iowa 80 is selling the Aircell intake spacer.

 

A thinly threaded sleeve is supposed to do all that?
Give me a break.

Iowa 80 will sell anything that might make them a few bucks.
Keeping one in stock is very little space.
