    Joining the Navy is a fine idea just don't do anything with airplanes. Hectic schedules and tons of work. Being able to go to school in the military means you need a decent schedule. The Navy is a pretty awesome organization. Sometimes I wish I had walked over and joined when I got out of the Corps.

    I was thinking of finding some sort of job in the military that'll teach me how to drive trucks so when I get out I wouldn't have to go to school for it. I don't think the navy has that lol, maybe the air force does.

    Nah, not even close to the same thing. Wouldn't worry about that too much. You will need to go to school when you are out but it's not a big deal.

    The Marines is the last service to allow enlisted to carry swords.

    Alright, I've had enough of all this flip flopping @Lucidd. Here's your career path;

    Enlist in the Navy.
    Get into BUDS.
    Have a fulfilling career in the SEAL teams.
    Get out and start driving truck.
    Beat the living #### out of every driver at the truck stop claiming to have been a SEAL.

    You'd be the biggest hero of truckin' folklore. They'd probably pin a medal on ya. Maybe even put your picture in the paper.

    You know i've actually thought about becoming a Navy Seal before LOL. Now that you brought it to my attention, it got me thinking. How would someone prepare for the rigorous training that BUDS has to offer? I mean like, apparently they'll have to run around 200 miles in five days. That's 40 miles a day. How would someone prepare for that? Especially if their already not "super fit"

    I don't really know if you can truly prepare for BUDS. Not mentally anyway. How high is your pain tolerance? Mine is pretty low. I'm a weenie. Beyond that, lots of running, push ups, pull ups, and core exercises would be my guess.

    Back in the early 2000s when Discovery Channel didn't suck, they ran a 6 part series documenting BUDS class 234. It's a great watch and easily found on YouTube. Here's a link to part 1 to get you started.

    I actually just watched that haha. Looks like i have to start working out now. I just did 50 push ups in around a minute and 10 seconds. In BUDS the minimum is 50 push ups in two minutes. So I'll have to fix that. So i have a choice between using the treadmill every day to hone my running and endurance, OR i could do the p90x program for 3 months, then repeat the entire program after i finish it. P90X basically focuses on the whole body, so i should start with that instead of running. One thing i know for sure though, if i start doing p90x now, i'll look hella good for summer.

    Really, i'm not planning on going into the SEALS, (most likely not) i think it'll just be a nice challenge for me to start training daily now, especially since i have to get in shape.
