    I know illinois gave me a violation when I was hauling trash with a transfer trailer without them... No point in having them when they end up coming off at the landfill in the mud

    Come to think of it Wisconsin also gave me a violation for no reflective tape on a tractor mud flap while I was pulling a Van...

    Is it true if you kick ur leaf springs are they rattle it's time for bushings?

    If you can get your springs to shake just by kicking them...something is very wrong. But A rattle can be many things, before i jumped right to bushings I'd be looking for any loose bolts and broken leafs.

    Well they shake buy the bushings. Nowhere else

    Yup....needs rebushed...had mine done on my Pete....I think parts were about $800 and a day's worth of labor....then you'll need a 3 axle alignment...another $250 or so...old trucks are great!!!!

    Federal DOT has no mud flap requirement at all. Violations are state requirements which vary from state to state. As most inspections are done by state and local inspectors they will write according to their local laws. In the rare event you get a true USDOT inspector they will not write up mud flaps.
