Also, the reason I withheld info about agent or load was because I know there are quite a few guys here at mercer who operate like that on a daily basis an I'm not the guy to knock any man from how he's making the system work for him an I don't want anybody calling up to mercer filing complaints against the agent for misbehaving etc etc. lol.

Don't have any complaints at all buddy.
Maybe you didn't read this post in its entirety. Only thing I ever had a gripe about was how guys like yourself go into full attack mode an basically tell these experienced truck drivers they don't know what the hell they are doing or how to run a business simply because they don't like the way the load board system works here. An to answer your question about me leaving...well being that I do have some morals about myself, I Gave myself a date to leave...when that date swings around then my dot number will be back on the side of my door.
I'm in no hurry. I honestly wanna give them at least 6 months but With the way things are going I don't even think I'll stay that long. Who knows?...I wish they would just let me buy this ELD system an I mail them their fuel card an permit book an I keep truckin'....that's one of the reasons I'm still here...hell I don't wanna drive to Louisville to turn this stuff in

Say what? I'm a good ole boy? LMAO. I'm way too new here to even be considered for that honor. Dude I know of no secret handshake. Of all the agents I've dealt with I can only name 1 by name. The "system" for me has been many hours over weekend studying trends to TRY and put my truck in the best possible positions in the weeks to follow. During the week I work the board, a lot! Agents don't call me about $20 a mile loads, I get them off the board just like most. When I'm rolling I work hard to get as much $$$ in as few miles as possible. Most of the things I do I have openly explained in these pages. Maybe not in a detailed book but piece by piece I've shared how I made it work here (to the dismay of a few). I've talked about working the board, dealing with agents. Picking my areas. Managing my money. Fuel and repair cost. My hate for tarps and a few other things I'm sure. The "good ole boy club" would never let me in the door. They would be afraid I would share any secrets they might have left.

But thanks for putting me in such high regard. If there is ever such a club I would be honored to be a part of it. I won't share any club secrets. I promise ;-)

You can mail all that back. And pay for the ELD. But in my five years here, I have never met an agent in person, I actually very rarely call an agent directly, I do have some call about a load, but its not good old boy deal, its or they usually can't get covered on a bet. Or one that's got to be committed to immediately. Remember, they get a percentage, also.
Jacques, honestly. You have fallen into a trap of thinking its all under the table type stuff. The things that concern you are very little to worry about. , drivers lounge at Louisville is the worst, for hearing all this. My actually WANT you to think this.

No one has told anyone they don't know what they are doing, they have been told to forget what they have done before, and adapt to and lean the system at mercer.

That is far different, which is really what's happening. You are having trouble between using the mercer system versus , what u know or own you wish it to be.

All of the secrets and tricks have been openly posted in the long mercer thread. You are exactly right. Its hard work put in learning how its done here. I am like you, I don't know the agents, when I call I give truck number. I am not a butt kisser, I do my job. I let that stand for itself

By the way, I would love to know where that load is going that the agent called you about is going. More times than not those deals are a disaster on one end or the other.
