    Hello Forum

Do you have your TWIC cards? How long the process takes?

I applied for one and going to appointment tomorrow. I found an employer who requires possession of this card as mandatory to get hired. I guess they have many cars coming in seaport. It should be good gig as well, keep you close to home (I live close to major seaports in Northeast)

There is no exam or test, just finger print and background check

    Yes, that's what I know,

but why do you treat TWIC as Hazmat alternative?

TWIC is all about background check and fingerprint check. Pretty simple, go to Homeland and all you do is fill out the form, get pictures and prints and sit back and wait. They will email/call when your TWIC card is mailed to their office and you go back and pick it up. TWIC expires in 7 years.

I also have hazmat, so it took about 8 business days. (I also had an expiring twic, so that may be why it was so fast)

TWIC is not a hazmat alternative. Never has been, never will. It actually has nothing to do with hazmat.

    Terry270 Thanks this.
